If you forgot your Username/Password
  1. Firstly, visit the Gmail sign in recovery page.

  4. Then, press Next.

  11. Check if a forwarding mail ID is given in the Forwarding part. If so, you need to disable the settings/choose to Keep Gmail’s Copy in the Inbox or else Mark Gmail’s Copy as Read.
  12. Lastly, press on Save Changes for applying the changes that have been made by you.
If Gmail ID has been compromised
  1. Firstly, visit the Google Account Security page.
  2. Then, sign in if asked.
  3. After that, press on Recent Security Events.
  4. Next, look for doubtful actions.
  5. Then, press on No It Wasn’t Me if you see anything suspicious. Afterwards, follow the prompts to protect your account.

Here’s how to automatically delete the trash in Gmail through a smartphone
•    Open the Gmail application from the iPhone or Android device.
•    Press on the Menu symbol which resembles three vertical lines to get a list of all the folders.
•    Press on the Trash file to open it.
•    In case you want to delete any particular message, then click on the Trash symbol round shape icon given at the left-hand side of each message.
•    After selecting it, you will notice that there is a tick symbol on the front of it.
•    Click on the Trash symbol after placing a tick symbol on the front of every message. It is located on the upper left-hand side of the display.
•    Press on the Empty Trash now or Empty Spam Now option is given at the upper side of the display to finish the deleting process of the trash in Gmail.
•    Click on the OK button when you get the verification window on display.
Follow the steps mentioned below, who opens the Gmail website through IMAP on their iPhone or Android:
•    Go to the Mail application located on the iPhone or Android.
•    Open the Gmail account.
•    Some of the emails will be separated by email ID.
•    The other emails contain all the emails in one folder.
•    Make sure that you have to select only that mail which you wish to remove from your Gmail account.
•    Find the menu list of the Gmail file.
•    Press on the Trash or Junk option for opening the Gmail file.
•    This procedure will put all the emails in a particular folder.

•    Sign in to the Gmail account by entering email address and password.
•    Press on the More option located in the left-hand side textbox.
•    It will open the drop-down menu of all the other Gmail folders, which includes the mails.
•    Go down till you will get the Trash folder and after that, press on it.
In that window, you can automatically delete the trash in Gmail.

•    For a particular mail, you need to left-click on the checkbox given to the left-hand side of the mail. It will automatically put the tick symbol on the box when you have completed this procedure.

•    To delete fifty emails at once, you need to left-click on the blank area located at the upper left-hand side of the Trash screen.
•    You will also get the “All 50 conversations on this page are selected option.
•    Press on the Delete forever URL which is showing on the screen.
•    To finish automatically delete trash Gmail procedure, press on the link Empty Trash now.
•    You will get a pop-up menu indicating to verify to remove all the emails permanently.
•    Press on the OK button.

How to access Gmail messages in other email services

You can open and read emails of your Gmail account in other email services ex. Microsoft Outlook, etc. But the mail client should support POP. With both POP and IMAP you can sync and read your Gmail messages in other email services in real-time. POP can be used only in a single computer, whereas IMAP across multiple devices.

How to set up POP in your Gmail account
1.    Open ‘Gmail’ in your PC.
2.    Log in with your Gmail account.
3.    Click the ‘Settings’ icon at the top.
4.    Switch to ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ tab.
5.    Click ‘Enable POP for all mail’ under the POP download section.
6.    Or click ‘Enable POP for mail arrives from now on.’
7.    Click ‘Save Changes’ button at the bottom.
That’s it! Now you need to make settings on the email client you want to access your emails. After settings up your email client, open and read your Gmail messages on it.
How to download your emails on other email clients
If you want to use your Gmail on multiple email services, then using IMAP is the easiest option. If you’re using POP instead of IMAP, then to download your emails you need to set up ‘Recent mode,’ it will show your past 30 days emails.
Steps to enable Recent Mode:
1.    Open your email client.
2.    Go to ‘POP settings page.’
3.    Look for the ‘User name/Email address’ field.
4.    Click your email address to edit it.
5.    And add “recent:” before your email address, like recent:emailaddress@gmail.com.
How to adjust your POP settings
If you want to save a copy of your emails on the server, then you can enable it from your POP settings.
On Outlook:
1.    Open “Outlook.”
2.    Open your Accounts.
3.    Click ‘Advanced.’
4.    And select ‘Leave a copy of emails on the server.’
On Apple Mail:
1.    Open ‘Apple Mail.’
2.    Go to the ‘Advanced’ tab.
3.    And uncheck the box of ‘Remove copy from server after retrieving a message,’ if checked.
On Thunderbird:
1.    Open ‘Thunderbird.’
2.    Go to ‘Server Settings’ tab.
3.    Select ‘Leave messages on the server.’
That’s it! Settings may vary with the versions and devices. And you may need to sign in with your account if you’re not signed in.
What to do if messages are getting deleted from your Gmail inbox?
You need to check and customize POP settings in your Gmail account if the messages are getting deleted after opening it into another email client.
1.    Open ‘Gmail’ in your PC.
