Windows 10 PC Won’t Complete the Formatting? Here are the Fixes

Launch a Check Disk Scan

You should follow the steps provided below:

  1. Hold the Windows and E buttons simultaneously to launch the File Explorer.
  2. Thereafter, connect the flash drive to start scanning the USB port.
  3. You should select the ‘This PC’ icon over the desktop.
  4. Then select the flash drive and right-click on it to launch its menu.
  5. Go to the Properties option.
  6. You have to choose the option of Tools and click on OK.
  7. You will see a screen which says, ‘You don’t need to scan this drive.’
  8. You should start a manual scan by choosing the option of ‘Scan and repair drive.’

Format the USB Drive with Disk Management

  1. Open the Run prompt.
  2. After that, insert ‘diskmgmt.msc’ into it, and press the OK button.
  3. Go to the USB stick and right-click on it over the screen of Disk Management, then choose the Format button.
  4. You should click on the button of Yes.
  5. Later, you should choose a file system to format the flash storage.
  6. Hit the button of OK to start the format process.
  7. Navigate to the ‘New Simple Volume’ option.
  8. Now, format the USB drive using the ‘New Simple Volume Wizard.’

Format the Drive with Diskpart 

Follow the steps given below.

  1. Access the Win + X menu.
  2. Then choose Command Prompt.
  3. In Command Prompt, insert ‘diskpart’ and hit the Return button.
  4. You should input ‘list disk’ into it and hit the Return key to launch a drives list.
  5. In the Diskpart screen, type ‘select disk n’ into it and hit the Enter button.
  6. However, change ‘n’ with the concrete disk number of the USB stick.
  7. You should input the ‘clean’ command in it and hit the Return button.
  8. Later, insert the ‘create partition primary’ command into the Diskpart.
  9. Now, type ‘format fs=ntfs quick’ then hit the Enter key to format the USB drive via NTFS.

•    In case they wish to permit the other user to customize and remove files and folders, then choose the “Read and Write” tab.
•    Once they had chosen the preferred “Permission” option, then tap on the “Share” option.
•     Save the “Network Path” in any place to use it for the “Shared” file.
•    After that, tap on the “Done” button.
How to Share Files and Folders in Windows 10 Through Advanced Settings?
Go through the steps mentioned below for sharing files and folders on the PC with another system through Advanced Settings:
•    The users need to right-click on the file which they wish to send.
•    Press on the “Properties” window.
•    Then, click on the “Sharing” option.
•    After that, tap on the “Advanced Sharing” button.
•    Verify “Share this folder” tab, place the limitations of sharing files for the users and after that tap on the “Permissions” button.
•    The users can modify the “Permission” option for particular users.
•    Tap on the “Apply” button.
•    After that, click on the “Ok” button.
•    Shut down the “Advanced Sharing” window.
