What to Do When Google Assistant is not Working?

Google Assistant is an excellent feature of Android devices, but sometimes users can face the issue regarding it. If Google Assistant is not working on your android device, you can follow some necessary steps to solve the issue. Most of the issues with Google Assistant are minor that can be resolved easily. If you don’t know the reasons of Problem, just follow these necessary steps for resolving the issue.

Reboot the Device
Problems with Google Assistant can happen with any user, but you have to follow the right path to solve it. Rebooting the device is a basic and most reliable technique that can be in this type of situation. Once you reboot the device, all the apps and games will reboot also, and they begin their working cycle from the start. Your device will take some time to reboot, and you might lose some of your battery percentages but don’t worry. Do not factory reset the device, and reboot doesn’t wipe out the data of the device. Once your device starts again, just use Google Assistant once again. Your Problem probably must be solved by now but if that doesn’t happen, follow the second step.
Retrain the Voice Model
The Problem might be happening because Google Assistant doesn’t seem to understand or recognize your voice. To fix this issue, you need to retrain. Use your voice again to let Google Assistant learn it. Launch the Google application and choose the “More” option on the below side of the screen. Now click on “Settings” and then hit the “Voice section.” Choose “Voice Match” following the “Retrain Voice Model.”
Click on “I agree” option and start to retrain your voice. You need to speak “OK Google” or “Hey Google” a couple of times. Once Google Assistant recognizes your voice, it will indicate all set and use Google Assistant. Now you can use Google Assistant and if this doesn’t work, so follow a few more options.
Ensure the Google Assistant is Enabled and Your Device Supports It
Ensure yourself if your smartphone supports it or not. Every android model doesn’t support Google Assistant, and that is why it is necessary to know about the device compatibility.
  1. Should have at least 1GB of ROM with Android 5.0+.
  2. Should have at least 1.5GB of ROM with Android 6.0+.
  3. Google app version should be 6.13 or higher.
  4. Screen resolution should be at least 720p.
If the compatibility of the device matches with Google Assistant, then check if it is activated. Activate the Google Assistant. Launch the Google Assistant on the mobile device and click on more sections. Click on the “Settings” on “Google Assistant.” Toggle on the Google Assistant and set up the Hey Google to complete the procedure. Check by saying OK Google or Hey Google and check if you got the response. If the problem is still the same, follow another method.
Additional Solution of Problem
If your problem is not solved from the direct features of Google Assistant, so now you need to make some changes in the phone. Try these options to resolve the issue.
