Five Ways to Free More Space on Your Android Device

Our Android mobile phones are always filled up with multiple applications and other media files like music, videos, photos, etc. Different Android devices offer different levels of storage, but space can never be enough.

In this article, we will mention five best ways by which you can create more space in your Android mobile phone:

Delete the Cache

Many Android applications utilize the stored data in your device, which is also known as cache, to offer a better user experience. Clearing cache can free a significant amount of space on your Android device. To clear the cache on your device, go to the "Settings", then "Applications" and then "Applications Manager". From here, you can click on the app cache you want to clear. Go to the app's info menu and click on storage and then click on Clear Cache.

If you want to clear the cache of all applications, then go to "Settings" and then "Storage". Then click on the Cached data, and all the cache will be cleared from your device.

Clear Unnecessary Downloads

We download a lot of data on our Android phone which clogs our device over time. You can create more space on your Android device by clearing the unnecessary downloads from your phone. To perform this function, go to "My Files" and select the unwanted files and then click on the delete icon.

Use Google Photos

Google Photos is a cloud-based service offered by Google to store an unlimited number of photos. You can back-up your photos via Google Photos and delete them from your device to free more space. You can also opt for the auto-sync option by going into "Settings" and then clicking on "Back-up & sync" to turn it on. You can back-up your photos in high resolution up to 16 megapixels or in their original size. Once, you have backed up all your photos, go to the "Settings" and then click on "Free up device storage." This function will automatically delete the backed-up files.

Transfer Applications to the MicroSD card

Mobile applications occupy a lot of space on your mobile phone. To create more space, you can insert a microSD card and use this extra memory to store heavy mobile applications. To enable this, go to the "Settings", then "Applications" and then "Applications Manager" and select the app you want to transfer. Although not every app can be moved to the microSD card, it depends on the app to app.

Delete Unwanted Applications

Just like photos and music, our Android device is also clogged up with useless apps. To free a significant amount of space on your Android device, you can delete unnecessary applications. Go to the "Settings" and then click on the "Storage" and then apps. Here, you can delete the apps which are occupying the most space and which you don't need it anymore.

Conclusion

Nothing is more frustrating than the clogged memory of your Android device. It affects the performance of your device and also doesn't let you download any new applications. The tips, as mentioned above, will help you to create more space in your Android mobile phone. You can use this free space to store essential files and applications.
