It is a modern gaming communication feature provided to users for a better experience and team coordination. The feature uses the microphone of your smartphone or PC and enables users to chat over messages and voice messages as well. Several modern games come with the Discord feature, which makes them more likable among users. Discord is indeed an excellent feature in the new generation gaming world, but it causes great disappointment when it stops working. Sometimes, the feature stops working due to several reasons, and users face trouble in playing games online. Here are some of the most common reasons for Discord not working issue and how to fix them.

Reset Voice Settings on Your Device
Resetting the settings is usually that first step you must take when facing such issues. If the Discord feature has stopped working on your device, open Discord and click on the cogwheel icon near your profile name. Select the Voice option by opening the settings menu and go to the reset option highlighted in red color. By performing voice reset, every setting in it goes back to the default and chances are the issue will be resolved. Resetting voice setting in Discord requires confirmation, so do the same to finish the reset.
Restart the System & Discord
Restart often gives kick-start the system and application, which is another best way to resolve such voice issues. Close all other tabs on the system and restart the device as well as Discord to resolve the issue. Restarting the system and the application often fixes errors and feature issues which users face around the world. Besides this, it is amongst the most basic methods one adopts to resolve any issue in the system and the same goes with the Discord service in your PC and smartphone games.
Turn Off Mic’s Exclusive Mode On Your System
Microphone’s Exclusive mode is a feature that allows several users to take control of some specific microphones. It is quite possible that the Discord feature is interrupted by the Exclusive mode feature on your Windows system. To resolve the issue, click on the speaker icon in the taskbar of the home screen of your system and choose the recording device. After that, navigate and choose properties and click on the Advanced option. There appears the microphone’s Exclusive mode feature, make sure the options are not selected and if it’s active, turn it off by left-clicking on it. The PC will now restart.
Check Hardware & External Connection
It’s not necessary that the problem lies in the application or some built-in software of the system. It is quite possible that some external connection and hardware has been damaged. In many of the cases, an external audio device may cause such Discord issues to users, and they need to be checked with their proper external connectivity with the system. First of all, check the slots and cables and if they are well connected with the system and look for hardware or audio device damages. Users often overlook hardware issues so it is best to always check the external connection and hardware of the system.
